BICYCLE IN CITY CENTRE

I envy the city centre that has public bicycles for rent. When will Jakarta do the same? Or maybe culturally impossible? Or probably the weather doesn't permit? I personally think nothing is impossible as long as the local government wants it. I have just visited three big cities : Hamburg, Oslo and Stockholm. All of them have public bikes facilities. Will these bikes survive in the middle of Jakarta, Surabaya or Bandung? Nobody will steal the spare parts of the bikes? Or maybe steal the whole bikes? I hope not. It is fun to bike to go around the city centre. It is the most logic thing to do besides walking. We have plenty of chances to see the details. Do you think that possible to do in big cities in Indonesia, too?
